“World Awaits ‘Ring of Fire’ Solar Eclipse Tomorrow”

Date:

Stargazers around the world are eagerly awaiting the first solar eclipse of the year, known as the “ring of fire”. This celestial event occurs when the Earth, sun, and moon align, with the moon passing directly between the sun and Earth, casting a shadow on our planet and temporarily blocking the Sun’s light.

Scheduled for tomorrow at 7:10 am, the solar eclipse of 2026 will showcase a path of annularity starting from western Antarctica and extending across the Davis Sea coast and the Southern Ocean. Unfortunately, this event will not be visible in the UK, but there are 12 locations overseas where lucky viewers may witness this phenomenon, each with varying degrees of the sun’s disk coverage.

For those who miss this eclipse, the next opportunity to witness a lunar eclipse, also known as a ‘Blood Moon’, will be between March 3 and March 4. Approximately 31% of the global population will have a chance to observe this eclipse, with North America, New Zealand, and East Asia being among the most promising viewing locations. The eclipse is projected to last for about 58 minutes.
