Co-op has introduced a significant update for its extensive base of online shoppers who are loyalty members. By leveraging their personalized weekly offers, Co-op members can now enjoy savings when placing orders online, a service previously limited to in-store purchases.
According to the supermarket, utilizing these personalized offers could result in potential savings exceeding £80 annually. These offers encompass discounts and deals on items that customers frequently purchase. Additionally, members can now redeem any monetary value loaded onto their membership card online, including game rewards and bonus offers.
Members can access personalized offers while shopping through shop.coop; however, this feature is not available when using third-party delivery apps like Deliveroo or Just Eat. Last year, Co-op expanded its personalized offers by 67%, reaching a total of over 700 offers, including renowned brands such as Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel, Pilgrims Choice, and Vimto.
Furthermore, Co-op recently extended member price savings to shoppers on platforms like Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Co-op’s online store. Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, emphasized the high engagement of Co-op members in online shopping, highlighting the company’s commitment to delivering consistent value to its stakeholders.
Co-op currently boasts approximately seven million members, with a membership fee of £1. The company’s growth strategy includes the opening of 18 new or revamped stores in the first quarter of 2026. The inaugural store of 2026 was introduced in Willowbrook Park, Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Moreover, Co-op plans to generate thousands of new apprenticeships in the coming years through a £70 million investment in its Levy Share service. This initiative aims to create 7,000 matched apprenticeships by 2030 by enabling levy-paying employers to transfer unused apprenticeship levy funds to various organizations and businesses.
Since its inception four years ago, the scheme has matched over 3,800 apprenticeships, with a focus on supporting deprived communities and the care sector.
