Bodyguard Pascal Duvier has come forward to support Chappell Roan’s version of events, stating that he was not employed by the pop star and therefore bears no responsibility for an incident involving an 11-year-old girl.
The controversy arose after reports emerged that Ada Law, the 11-year-old daughter of actor Jude Law, was allegedly scolded by a security guard in a Brazilian hotel lobby following an encounter with the 28-year-old singer.
Ada’s stepfather, Jorginho Frello, took to social media to address the situation, claiming that the guard approached them at their breakfast table after his daughter smiled at Chappell while passing by, leaving her upset on her birthday. However, the guard responsible for the confrontation has clarified that he is not associated with the Pink Pony Club performer.
In an Instagram Story, the guard refuted the rumors circulating online, stating, “I typically do not respond to online gossip, but the current accusations are false and constitute defamation. I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st.”
He further explained, “I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of Chappell Roan’s personal security team. The actions I took were independent and not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her management, or any other individuals.”
Pascal concluded his statement by saying, “I made a decision based on information provided by the hotel, events I witnessed earlier, and the heightened security risk at our location. My interaction with the mother was peaceful and well-intentioned, and I regret the outcome of the incident.”
While Pascal did not disclose the identity of his employer, he absolved Chappell of any responsibility for the incident. This aligns with the singer’s own account shared on Instagram, where she stated that she was not involved in the situation and did not witness the events.
Chappell emphasized in her video, “I harbor no ill feelings towards my fans or children. It is disheartening that assumptions were made about the mother and child’s actions. If they felt uncomfortable, it deeply saddens me. They did not deserve that.”
