A tragic incident unfolded at an Asda store where two individuals passed away in front of shoppers. The incidents, occurring on separate occasions, involved men experiencing sudden medical emergencies, prompting the intervention of emergency services at the West Swindon District Centre Asda.
The first incident transpired on February 13 at the popular supermarket, followed by the second incident on February 15. Both occurrences necessitated the dispatch of the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.
In the initial event, emergency services responded to a man in his 70s who suffered a cardiac arrest at 4:55 pm. Despite extensive life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his condition approximately 40 minutes later. Wiltshire Police confirmed the absence of any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
Regarding the second incident, authorities were alerted to a medical emergency involving a man in his 70s around 10:15 am on February 15. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police expressed condolences to the family and reiterated that there were no suspicious elements involved.
The South Western Ambulance Service promptly responded to the situation, with two land ambulances, an air ambulance, and an operations officer dispatched to the scene. Meanwhile, a recent report by Which? indicated that Tesco outranked Asda as the most cost-effective supermarket for a significant shopping list in January. Customers with a Clubcard at Tesco could purchase a list of 228 items for a slightly lower price compared to Asda. However, exclusivity rules for Tesco’s loyalty program could limit some shoppers from benefiting from these savings.
Notably, Aldi and Lidl were not part of the comparison due to their smaller product range. Waitrose emerged as the priciest option, with a higher overall cost compared to Tesco.
