A 24-year-old woman, Paula Ellen Neves da Silva, has been arrested for allegedly killing her 32-year-old boyfriend, Daniel dos Santos, by beheading him in their shared apartment in Itaquaquecetuba, Brazil. The incident occurred after she claimed to have caught him trying to abuse her young son. According to authorities, the woman confessed to the crime.
Police believe that the couple, along with a friend, had been consuming alcohol and drugs before the friend left the premises. The woman recounted that she pretended to be asleep on the living room floor when she saw her boyfriend attempting to open her son’s nappy. She then grabbed a knife and stabbed him, leading to a struggle where the man allegedly used a serrated knife to injure her hand.
Following the altercation, the woman reportedly beheaded the victim, placed his head in a rucksack, and cleaned up parts of the crime scene. She later contacted her ex-husband, mother, and brother to inform them of the incident, providing photographic evidence of the dismembered body.
Upon investigation, police found the victim’s body in the bathroom with multiple stab wounds, and his head inside a rucksack. The couple had been in a relationship for about two months. The woman was detained for aggravated homicide, procedural fraud, and concealing a corpse. Despite being interviewed by the police, she expressed no remorse and stated she would repeat her actions.
The case is under investigation, with authorities stating there is insufficient evidence to support a claim of self-defense. Prosecutors have requested her preventive detention, and the investigation is ongoing.
