A fire in Moscow has resulted in the deaths of at least three individuals, with a potential 200 more individuals still possibly trapped inside. The fire, which broke out at a construction site in the northern part of the city, has affected the second and third floors and is believed to be spreading.
The fire department has confirmed three fatalities and seven injuries, with 31 people rescued and three receiving medical attention before the arrival of firefighters. The emergency response level has been elevated to level four, with reports indicating individuals are trapped on the third floor.
The Savelovskaya Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation into the fire’s cause, and a criminal case has been opened for alleged safety regulation violations during the construction process. The Investigative Committee’s Moscow Main Investigative Directorate has stated that a criminal case has been launched based on negligence resulting in the death of two or more individuals due to safety regulation violations.
Emergency teams are actively engaged in efforts to locate any remaining individuals within the building.
