Innocent Italian Waiter Fatally Shot in Mafia Ambush

British tourists witnessed a shocking incident during their dinner at a restaurant in southern Italy when armed assailants entered and fatally shot an innocent waiter, Angelo Pizzi, known as Lino. The 62-year-old head waiter was mistakenly targeted and killed in the attack, believed to be intended for the restaurant owner. The tragic event unfolded at the Spaghetteria n.1 restaurant in Bisceglie, where two masked gunmen fired about 15 shots, causing chaos among diners.

Authorities revealed that Mr. Pizzi, a well-respected family man, was caught in the crossfire, having no ties to criminal activities. The investigation into the shooting is being led by a specialized justice body focused on mafia-related crimes. Among the witnesses were British vacationers who were horrified by the sudden ambush.
