“Former Police Officer’s Tragic Bridge Fall Amid Misconduct Probe”

Date:

A former police officer, identified as Jonathan Ezard, tragically passed away after falling from a bridge over the M60. Ezard, who resigned from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) amid a misconduct investigation regarding inappropriate messages about a female colleague, left the force before facing a scheduled hearing. The messages were described as misogynistic and disrespectful by his superiors.

Following his departure from GMP, Ezard reportedly struggled but found employment at Amazon, only to be recently made redundant. Colleagues criticized GMP for their handling of the situation, expressing dismay over what they viewed as an unjust outcome for Ezard.

Ezard’s death, which occurred on March 31 by falling from Barton Bridge in Salford, was deemed non-suspicious. An inquest is expected to be conducted by Bolton Coroners’ Court. Despite being barred from future policing roles, Ezard was recognized for his service, including involvement in initiatives against crime and fundraising efforts.

The circumstances surrounding Ezard’s exit from the police force deeply affected him and his family, who expressed their devastation over the situation. GMP and the Greater Manchester Police Federation extended condolences and support to Ezard’s loved ones during this difficult time.
