Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was rushed to the hospital and is currently in a critical but stable condition, according to reports. Giuliani’s spokesperson made a public statement calling for prayers for the well-being of “America’s Mayor.”
Giuliani, 81, who served as New York City’s mayor from 1994 to 2001, had recently hosted his online show, “America’s Mayor Live,” from Palm Beach, Florida. During the show, he displayed symptoms like a raspier voice and coughing.
The exact cause of Giuliani’s condition and the reason for his hospitalization remain undisclosed. Giuliani, known for his close association with former President Trump, had been appointed by Trump to handle legal matters concerning alleged voting irregularities in the 2020 presidential election.
In a separate incident, Giuliani faced legal repercussions and was disbarred in 2024 due to false claims made following the 2020 election. This disbarment followed a previous suspension of his law license in 2021 for similar reasons. Giuliani was also ordered to pay $148 million to two Georgia election workers for defamation following the 2020 election, which led to his bankruptcy filing.
Despite his legal troubles, Giuliani’s health situation has sparked concerns and calls for support from various quarters, including President Trump, who praised Giuliani’s legacy as the “best mayor” and criticized the treatment Giuliani received from political opponents.
