A young man, 20, tragically passed away after falling from a hotel balcony in Tenerife.
Harrison Hanley, a swimming instructor from West Derby, was discovered at the Parque Santiago 2 apartment complex in Playa de las Americas on April 25. His body was found by a maintenance worker, indicating he had fallen from an internal balcony within the apartment block.
Following an inquest at the Gerard Majella Courthouse in Liverpool, coroner André Rebello confirmed that Harrison’s death was a result of a fall from the balcony, leading to fatal injuries. The incident was ruled as a “tragic accident” with no foul play suspected.
Harrison’s family attended the inquest, with Mr. Rebello encouraging them to cherish Harrison’s memory. In response to his passing, St Sebastian’s Catholic Primary School, where Harrison was a former student, paid tribute to his vibrant personality and athletic talent.
The school created a book of condolences and organized a balloon release ceremony in remembrance of Harrison. A fundraising initiative was also initiated by his friend to support Harrison’s family during this difficult time.
Described as a charismatic and beloved individual, Harrison’s impact on those around him was profound, leaving a legacy of kindness, laughter, and camaraderie. St Hilda’s High School also honored his memory, highlighting his infectious charm and positive influence on others.
