“Police Investigate Historical Child Sexual Abuse Cases”

Date:

Police are currently looking into two separate cases of historical child sexual abuse detailed in the Epstein files. One incident reportedly occurred in the mid-1990s to 2000 in locations spanning Surrey and Berkshire, while the other is said to have taken place in West Surrey during the mid to late 1980s.

Specialist detectives have interviewed the alleged victims, and as of now, no arrests have been made nor charges filed. Surrey Police had previously encouraged any witnesses with information on human trafficking or sexual abuse allegations to step forward.

Recently, after a redacted report from the US Department of Justice in December highlighted allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault in Virginia Water between 1994 and 1996, Surrey Police appealed for witnesses to provide any relevant information. Various UK police forces have been reviewing the extensive information contained in the files released this year.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Surrey Police stated, “We are investigating two separate allegations of non-recent child sexual abuse following the disclosure of files related to Jeffrey Epstein by the US Department of Justice. The first report pertains to incidents in Surrey and Berkshire between the mid-1990s and 2000, while the second involves events in West Surrey during the mid to late 1980s. No arrests have been made at this stage.”

The US Department of Justice has made public over 3.5 million pages of documents linked to Epstein, who passed away in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking and conspiracy charges. Meanwhile, Maxwell, associated with Epstein, received a 20-year prison sentence in 2022 for aiding Epstein in exploiting young girls.

In one FBI report from July 2020, an individual recounted being drugged and taken to “paedophile ring parties” near Virginia Water in Surrey during the mid-1990s. While Surrey Police has not confirmed investigating these specific claims, they have acknowledged looking into historical abuse allegations.

The same individual, who came forward at the age of 31, alleged being struck by a car driven by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, resulting in lasting injuries. The complainant mentioned a broken figurine from the car’s bonnet, which they purportedly buried near their residence for future evidence retrieval. The details did not disclose the gender of the complainant, who claimed to have experienced abuse and torture during the alleged incidents.

Further allegations from the complainant included abuse by Epstein during family vacations in Florida around the same time frame. Surrey Police refrained from commenting on whether these extraordinary claims are part of their ongoing investigations.

Previously, Surrey Police stated that they had not found any record of the current allegations being reported to them after examining their systems. Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any misconduct related to Epstein. He was apprehended in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office, with Thames Valley Police investigating claims of passing confidential information to Epstein while serving as a government envoy.

Moreover, Lord Mandelson, the former British ambassador to the US, is also under investigation by the Met Police for alleged misconduct in public office over claims of sharing confidential information with Epstein during his tenure as Tony Blair’s business secretary.

The Mirror has reached out to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s representatives for a response.
