A British woman named Wendy Iles is currently missing in Spain, sparking a frantic search effort. Wendy was supposed to return to the UK from Costa Blanca but disappeared without a trace. Concern arose when she failed to board a ferry with her dog and lost contact with her family. Her daughter, Louise, suspects Wendy’s passport was stolen and her phone has been turned off.
Louise raised the alarm after Wendy last communicated from the Alfafar region near Valencia on Sunday evening. Wendy seemed confused during their last conversation, mentioning her campervan had been stolen. She was accompanied by her Springer Spaniel at the time of her disappearance.
Louise has urgently appealed for information, stating that Wendy was last known to be in the vicinity of Silla, Alfafar, and Russafa, heading towards Caen in France. Wendy was expected to catch a ferry back to the UK on May 23 but did not show up for the crossing.
Described as 5ft tall, Wendy was traveling with her Springer Spaniel. Louise has reached out to online expat forums to seek help in locating her mother. She expressed frustration over the challenges in tracking Wendy’s movements, mentioning that British police require her to be classified as high risk before monitoring her bank transactions.
Despite obtaining an Interpol reference number, Louise continues to seek assistance in locating Wendy, especially in the Valencia area. Wendy’s failure to follow through on plans and the disappearance of her campervan have added to the family’s distress. The Iles family is actively seeking any information about Wendy’s whereabouts as the search intensifies. The UK Foreign Office has been contacted for further assistance.
