Royal Sisters May Skip Cousin’s Wedding Amid Father’s Scandal

Date:

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie may skip their cousin Peter Phillips’ upcoming wedding due to recent allegations involving their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Thames Valley Police has expanded its investigation into Andrew following claims of inappropriate conduct at Royal Ascot in 2002.

The royal sisters were expected to attend the wedding in Cirencester on June 6, but uncertainties have arisen with Andrew’s renewed scandal. Royal expert Tom Sykes expressed that Beatrice and Eugenie are hesitant to draw attention away from the wedding festivities.

Sources indicate that the princesses are undecided about attending the private ceremony as they do not wish to overshadow the couple. Additionally, it is suggested that they might avoid public events like Royal Ascot to maintain a low profile amidst their parents’ controversies.

While one insider predicts Beatrice and Eugenie will likely skip the wedding, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes the cousins share a positive relationship. Bond emphasized that the Royal Family aims to support the princesses despite the ongoing issues surrounding their parents.

Thames Valley Police confirmed they are investigating the allegations against Andrew regarding the incident at Royal Ascot in 2002. The force remains thorough in their inquiries, including examining potential misconduct in public office related to the ex-duke’s actions.
