America’s Secretary of Health, Robert F Kennedy Jr, had a close encounter with two snakes when he decided to handle them bare-handed, despite warnings from wildlife experts.
The incident took place at the residence of Trump official Mehmet Oz, where Kennedy Jr picked up the non-venomous Black Racers from the patio. His wife, Cheryl Hines, can be heard cautioning him as he proudly displayed the snakes to the camera. Despite being repeatedly bitten by the creatures, Kennedy Jr continued to smile for the camera before releasing them back into the wild in Florida.
In a daring move, Kennedy Jr approached the slithering snakes, grabbed them, and held them up as they attacked him before eventually letting them go. He shared the video on his social media account, captioning it as “Cheryl cheerleads the removal of a pair of Black Racers from Dr. Oz’s patio.”
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission advised the public to maintain a safe distance from snakes, especially during the active spring season. They warned against handling snakes, emphasizing that even non-venomous ones can deliver painful bites.
This is not the first time Kennedy Jr has made headlines for his unusual encounters with wildlife. Previously, there were reports of him disposing of a bear carcass in Central Park, and more recently, he faced scrutiny for allegedly removing a raccoon’s penis.
During a congressional hearing, Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva questioned Kennedy Jr about his unconventional research methods, including the incident involving the raccoon. Kennedy Jr chose not to respond to the inquiry.
In 2024, environmentalists called for an investigation into an old story where Kennedy Jr supposedly used a chainsaw to remove the head of a beached whale and transported it home on the roof of his vehicle.
While Kennedy Jr has never officially commented on the whale incident, his daughter, Kathleen Kennedy, revealed details of the event in an interview several years ago. She recounted how the family drove with the whale head on the roof, causing a smelly mess inside the vehicle during the journey back to New York.
Despite facing criticism for his actions, Kennedy Jr remains unapologetic and continues to attract attention for his unconventional interactions with nature.
