Around 4,000 attendees were expected at the event, but few celebrities with broad appeal were confirmed to be present, despite personal invitations from Dana White, the UFC’s president and CEO. White mentioned reaching out to renowned actors like Adam Sandler, Guy Ritchie, Tom Brady, Jared Leto, Jason Statham, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Mario Lopez, but many of them had already declined the invitation, as reported by Vanity Fair.
While representatives for the British celebrities named have not commented on their reported invites, neither the White House nor the UFC have provided statements. The lack of celebrity attendance reflects a broader issue Trump is facing in his second term — a decline in popularity. Despite claiming a landslide victory in the 2024 elections, his approval ratings have plummeted, with only 28 percent approval in May and a significant 58 percent disapproval rating.
This decline in popularity has had repercussions on the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations, with singers withdrawing from a concert series on the National Mall upon learning of its association with Trump. In response, Trump has suggested holding a large MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY instead of the concert, criticizing the singers and their music as uninteresting and complaining.
