Newly revealed CCTV footage has captured a disturbing moment where a child murderer glances nervously behind him as three convicted killers enter his prison cell. Kyle Bevan, 33, who was serving time at HMP Wakefield, known as “Monster Mansion,” for the brutal murder of his two-year-old stepdaughter, was attacked by fellow inmates.
The footage shows Mark “The Iceman” Fellows, Lee Newell, and David Taylor, convicted killers, stalking Bevan and following him into his cell before brutally stabbing him 25 times. The attackers then arranged Bevan in bed to make it seem like he was asleep. Unfortunately, he was only discovered the next morning during a roll call, having already been deceased for several hours. Fellows, along with Taylor and Newell, received whole life orders for their actions during a hearing at Leeds Crown Court.
The trio conspired to kill Bevan, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of two-year-old Lola James in Wales. Prosecutors mentioned that the attackers specifically targeted certain inmates, including sex offenders and individuals convicted of crimes against children, hinting at a possible motive for seeking a transfer from HMP Wakefield.
Evidence from searches in the attackers’ cells revealed items stained with Bevan’s blood, including a makeshift weapon. The jury concluded that the three men collaborated to kill Bevan or cause him severe harm, resulting in convictions for murder. During sentencing, Mrs. Justice McGowan described the assailants’ brutal attack on Bevan, emphasizing the terrifying nature of his final moments.
Chief Inspector James Entwistle of the West Yorkshire Police condemned the premeditated violence, stating that the actions of Fellows, Taylor, and Newell displayed a blatant disregard for life and prison safety protocols. The verdicts were seen as crucial in holding these dangerous individuals accountable and upholding the law to ensure the safety of others.
