A man and a child are in critical condition following a gas canister explosion that occurred inside a vehicle in West Yorkshire. The incident happened around 2:15 pm on Sunday outside the Hare and Hounds Inn on Liley Lane, Mirfield. Emergency services discovered five individuals inside the vehicle, including four children and a man, all of whom sustained serious burns and were promptly transported to the hospital for medical care. Among the injured, a 43-year-old man and an eight-year-old girl are facing life-threatening injuries, while the other three children are believed to have sustained injuries that will significantly impact their lives. West Yorkshire Police stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, although an investigation is underway. Yorkshire Live reported that the explosion, which occurred near Huddersfield, was a result of a gas canister detonation inside a tipper truck, prompting the dispatch of air ambulance crews to the scene.
