Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Threatens US Retaliation

Date:

The leader of Iran’s secretive Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a stern warning of retaliation against the United States following the burial of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi called for revenge for Khamenei’s death in airstrikes carried out by Israel and the US. Concerns are rising about potential further tensions, especially in the Strait of Hormuz.

Over the past week, Iran has held mourning ceremonies for Khamenei, who ruled with a heavy hand for many years. General Vahidi vowed justice and retribution against those responsible for the attack, particularly targeting the US military. The recent missile exchanges between the two sides were triggered by Iran’s actions against vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

Israeli intelligence alleged a plot to assassinate US President Donald Trump, possibly prompting his departure from a NATO conference in Turkey. The US has conducted strikes on Iranian targets, prompting retaliatory attacks by Iran on Gulf States and Jordan, with a focus on US bases and heightened alert in Israel. Despite explosions in Iran, the US denies involvement, hinting at possible preemptive actions by Israel.

Khamenei’s death was the result of extensive planning by Mossad and CIA, with the joint operation targeting key Iranian leaders. While the strikes initially disrupted the Iranian leadership, the decentralized military structure allowed for continued actions against perceived threats. The situation remains tense as both sides remain on edge.
