A military helicopter carrying three individuals crashed in Alabama, United States. The incident involving the helicopter from the US Army base Fort Rucker occurred near Opp on the afternoon of July 28.
According to officials, the crew was engaged in routine flight training when the mishap took place. The chopper was said to be part of an aviation incident.
Sheriff Blake Turman of Covington County confirmed the crash landing in a privately owned field on Cool Springs Road. Fortunately, he stated that there were no injuries believed to have occurred.
Onboard the helicopter were an instructor pilot and two student pilots, all of whom are reportedly in stable condition. They were subsequently taken to a Dothan hospital for medical assessment.
Authorities have indicated that there were no injuries to individuals on the ground and no property damage reported. While the helicopter is said to be a UH-72 Lakota, specific details regarding the crash remain limited.
