Additionally, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed concerns to Trump about potential U.S. actions that could heighten the conflict with Iran. There were worries that targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure or conducting significant strikes could provoke retaliatory attacks on energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries.
