An incident at a cultural festival in London led to its temporary suspension on Saturday evening. The Ghana Party in the Park event in Barnet was disrupted following injuries sustained by multiple individuals, prompting organizers to halt the festivities momentarily.
Authorities from the Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at Copthall Playing Fields due to overcrowding issues. Although several attendees were hurt, the injuries reported were not deemed life-threatening, as confirmed by the police.
The Metropolitan Police in Barnet clarified the situation, stating, “The Ghana Party in the Park event at Copthall Playing Fields had to be canceled due to an overcrowding incident at the entrance, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to multiple individuals. Contrary to rumors, there was no stabbing. We urge the public to steer clear of the area to aid our efforts.”
In a message shared on social media, the event organizers stated, “In light of a significant incident at the festival venue, the event has been momentarily suspended. Please refrain from attending the site until further notice.
“Emergency services and relevant authorities are actively managing the situation. We appeal for cooperation in avoiding the area to facilitate their operations.”
“Further updates will be provided once additional information is accessible. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during this time.”
