A brave Golden Retriever defied the odds after surviving five surgeries following an adder bite. Kobi, a seven-month-old pup, showed signs of lethargy while walking through tall grass, prompting his owner Roma Morgan to rush him to a local veterinary clinic. Despite initial treatments, Kobi’s condition worsened, leading to the discovery of a puncture wound on his neck. Subsequent medical interventions, including anti-venom therapy, required extensive care over the next 10 months, totaling over £8,000 in expenses.
Roma and her husband Steve, from Penparcau near Aberystwth, expressed gratitude towards the veterinary team for their dedicated care, emphasizing the importance of prompt treatment for adder bites in pets. Witnessing Kobi’s recovery brought them immense joy, describing him as their little hero. To support Kobi’s treatment costs, friends initiated a fundraising campaign in June last year.
The fundraising page recounted Kobi’s encounter with the venomous snake and the challenging journey of multiple surgeries and intensive care. Despite the odds, Kobi’s resilience prevailed, symbolizing a champion’s spirit fueled by love.
