“Accused Gunman’s Manifesto Targets Trump Administration”

Date:

The individual who allegedly targeted Donald Trump shared a manifesto containing peculiar apologies and justifications.

Cole Allen, the accused gunman, reportedly transmitted the manifesto to family members approximately 10 minutes before the incident at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. In the 1,052-word document, the gunman detailed his “rules of engagement” for the shooting that took place on a Saturday, asserting his responsibility to aim at members of the Trump administration.

The teacher, Allen, is said to have initiated his manifesto with apologies, expressing remorse for deceiving others. He admitted to misleading his parents about a job interview and fabricating a personal emergency to colleagues and students. Additionally, he expressed regret towards individuals he encountered during his travels and those at the hotel, acknowledging the danger he may have put them in.

After purportedly breaching a security checkpoint and shooting an agent at the dinner in Washington DC, Allen was apprehended. Law enforcement officials reported that he was armed with both firearms and knives during the incident.

Amidst the chaos, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were evacuated from the event when gunfire erupted outside. The suspect, identified as Allen, 31, hails from Torrance, a suburb of Los Angeles.

The manifesto identified administration officials as targets, with Allen allegedly declaring his refusal to allow a person he described as a “paedophile, rapist, and traitor” to escape justice.

Responding to the manifesto’s claims, Trump denied the accusations in an interview with 60 Minutes, asserting, “I’m not a paedophile.” Notably, President Trump has faced multiple assassination attempts, including one during his 2024 campaign where he was targeted by gunman Thomas Crooks in Pennsylvania.

During the 2024 event, Crooks aimed at Trump, injuring him in the ear before being shot and killed by security personnel. Questions lingered regarding the security measures in place, particularly the blind spot that allowed the assailant to get so close to the President.
