“Back-to-Back Earthquakes Rock Venezuela, Sparks Panic”

Date:

Back-to-back significant earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday, causing buildings to collapse in Caracas and sparking panic at a nearby airport. The initial earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.1, originated west of Morón along the Caribbean coast, approximately 104 miles from Caracas. Following this, a more powerful 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit, with its epicenter 10 miles southwest of Morón.

Videos shared on social media captured scenes of chaos at an airport close to the Venezuelan capital in the aftermath of the consecutive earthquakes. Subsequently, a tsunami advisory was issued, warning of possible hazardous tsunami waves for coastal areas within 300 kilometers of the earthquake’s epicenter.

Updates on the situation are expected to follow.
