Devoted England Fan Spends £20k for World Cup, Disney Dream

Date:

A devoted fan from England is investing £20,000 to treat his family to an unforgettable vacation at both the World Cup and Disney World. Owen Pickering, a father of seven, has been a loyal supporter of the national team for years, earning the title of ‘top capper’ for his dedication to attending matches at home and abroad. To ensure his presence at this summer’s events, Owen, 61, has arranged accommodation in Kissimmee, Florida, for his children to experience both the Disney World Resort and the football matches. However, the financial strain of purchasing tickets, flights, accommodation, and theme park passes has been significant.

Owen, residing in Crawley, West Sussex, expressed his commitment by stating, “I am a top capper with 62 caps. My sons Sheldon and Nathan have 60 each as they accompany me to games regularly. I made a substantial investment in tickets and flights to the US to secure our attendance.” While missing the England group stage matches, Owen will be in the US from July 4 to the 19th, hoping for a successful run led by Harry Kane in the later rounds. He has already secured flights and tickets for a potential clash with Mexico on July 5 in the round of 16 but decided against booking for the initial three group games due to an extended absence from home.

In anticipation of England’s performance, Owen took risks by booking flights and tickets for a potential game against Mexico, showcasing his unwavering support. His total expenses so far include £6,500 on flights, £6,000 on Disney World passes, £3,000 on accommodation, £1,350 for England vs. Mexico tickets, £200 on US visas, £1,500 for knockout round tickets, and £800 for a 12-seater hire vehicle. Despite the financial commitment, Owen remains grateful for the opportunity to witness the events and support his favorite teams.
