“Child fatality in North Yorkshire dog attack tragedy”

A tragic incident unfolded in North Yorkshire where a child reportedly passed away due to a dog attack. Cleveland Police responded to a distress call on Hardale Drive in Dormanstown, Redcar, around 1.30pm on Thursday, discovering the lifeless child on-site.

The unfortunate fatality is believed to be a result of a dog bite. In response, armed officers swiftly arrived, euthanizing one dog on the street, while another dog from the property was apprehended by the authorities, according to Teesside Live.

Expressing condolences, Emily Harrison, the District Commander for Redcar and Cleveland, stated, “This is undeniably a distressing and heartbreaking occurrence, and our hearts go out to the family of the child. An investigation into the tragic incident is underway at the scene, and individuals are urged to approach the officers with any concerns or information.”

Paramedics were also present at the location. A spokesperson from the North East Ambulance Service confirmed their response to the incident in Redcar, dispatching multiple ambulance crews and medical personnel, with one individual being transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
