An airplane carrying more than a dozen individuals, including a Colombian congressman, has disappeared. Concern is mounting as a Satena airline flight lost contact while en route between Cúcuta and Ocaña in Colombia. Local authorities have established a crisis team to address the situation.
There were a total of 13 passengers and two crew members onboard the flight. Reports have identified Diógenes Quintero, a member of the Colombian house of representatives, as one of the passengers.

Radar data indicates that the aircraft’s last known position was between Hacarí and La Playa de Belén, within the Catatumbo region. The plane was expected to land at noon local time.
Colombia’s Minister of Transport, Maria Fernanda Rojas, revealed that the Accident Investigation Directorate of @AerocivilCol is investigating the communication loss of flight HK4709. The cause of the incident remains unclear.
Following the event, Satena airline released a statement stating that they have mobilized all available resources and are working closely with the Colombian Aerospace Force Command and Control Centre, as well as the Civil Aeronautics Technical and Accident Investigation Directorate.
Flight NSE 8849, which operated the Cúcuta-Ocana route, reported its final communication with air traffic control at 11:54 am today, after taking off at 11:42 am with an intended landing time of 12:05 pm.
