A body of a woman was discovered inside a washing machine following a tip received by the police, leading them to search a nearby pond. Even after eight years, her family is still seeking justice.
Trish Haynes, aged 25, abruptly cut off contact with her grandmother after moving in with two friends. Concerned about the situation, her grandmother reported her as missing to the Grafton Police Department in New Hampshire. The only communication received from Trish was through her friends.
After a tip, authorities searched Grant’s Pond and found a submerged washer and dryer containing Haynes’ remains. The police treated the case as a homicide and conducted a year-long investigation before announcing it to the public as a murder. Despite the passage of eight years, no arrests have been made in connection with her disappearance.
Haynes’ cousin, Carey-Ann Wilson, aged 51, shared that the family has gathered several tips about the incident and is raising funds to offer a reward for information leading to a conviction. Carey-Ann, a human resources generalist from The Lakes Region in New Hampshire, expressed shock and sadness upon learning about Trish’s death.
The family grew concerned when Hayes moved in with an old friend in May 2018, noticing a significant change in her communication patterns. She ceased contact with her grandmother and great aunt, with whom she shared a close bond, leading to increased worry within the family.
The public acknowledgment of Hayes’ death by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office came in July 2019. Despite this, no progress has been made in the case, leaving the family frustrated and in a state of unresolved grief. The family remains determined to seek justice and keep Trish’s memory alive by speaking out and seeking support from advocacy groups.
