Paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene following reports of a child falling from a fourth-floor apartment on Sunday night. Despite efforts to revive the child, a 10-year-old tragically passed away at the location in Lorient, Brittany, France. The gender of the child remains undisclosed at this time.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the child’s death, with a post-mortem examination scheduled in the upcoming days. According to Public Prosecutor Laëtitia Mirande, there is no indication of any third-party involvement in the incident at 4 Rue Gabriel-Fauré, located in Bois du Château, a residential area in the western French city.
Mirande stated, “An inquiry has been launched to determine the cause of death. Initial findings do not point to the participation of any external party.” The family of the deceased child will be connected with France Victimes for support.
Reports from Ouest-France indicate that the child hailed from Comoros, an island group situated off the eastern coast of Africa. The Comorian community has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event.
