A father recently recounted the harrowing experience of confronting a convicted rapist who had entered his daughter’s bedroom, leading to a shocking turn of events resulting in the rapist’s death. Ben Batterham, a 33-year-old resident of Hamilton, Australia, was celebrating his birthday at home with a friend when an intruder, later identified as Ricky Slater, broke in. Fortunately, Ben’s fiancée and infant daughter were safe next door at his parents’ house at the time.
When Ben encountered Slater exiting his daughter’s nursery, a confrontation ensued as Slater attempted to flee. Ben, a chef apprentice then, described the intense moment, expressing concern for his family’s safety. He pursued Slater through the streets, eventually subduing him in an attempt to make a citizen’s arrest before the police arrived.
Despite Ben’s efforts to detain Slater, a physical struggle ensued, resulting in Slater becoming unresponsive after being handcuffed by the police.
