The 2026 National Pub & Bar Awards in the UK have recognized the top drinking establishments, with various pubs across the country receiving accolades.
Among the winners is the Gunton Arms near Cromer in Norfolk, which was awarded the prestigious title of National Pub and Bar of the Year. The Gunton Arms is a traditional pub with bedrooms located within an extensive historic 18th-century estate. It boasts 16 bedrooms, a luxury four-bedroom thatched cottage, and a restaurant that emphasizes local ingredients, including venison sourced from the surrounding deer park.
In addition to its culinary offerings, the Gunton Arms features an impressive collection of art from contemporary artists like Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin, adding to the pub’s rustic and cosy ambiance.
Regional winners include The George in Fitzrovia, which received the award for London. This 18th-century, grade II listed pub exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere with jewel-colored interiors and gold accents. Known for serving excellent Guinness, The George offers a menu that combines Irish cuisine with international flavors.
The Ferry Inn in the fishing village of Uig on the Isle of Skye was named the North Scotland Pub & Bar of the Year. This 19th-century island inn provides three boutique rooms for accommodation, a wide selection of gins, and an array of whiskies for enthusiasts.
Further accolades were given to Caledonian Heritable for Pub Group of the Year and Albert’s Schloss for Bar Group of the Year. Albert’s Schloss is a chain of German-themed pubs known for live entertainment, Bavarian dining, and a diverse range of European beers.
The Tyrrells Tyrrellbly Good Taste Award was presented to The Welldiggers Arms in Petworth, West Sussex. This traditional country pub offers stunning views of the South Down National Park and specializes in fresh, locally sourced British cuisine, including pub classics, brunches, and traditional Sunday roasts.
