Emergency services responded to a day care center in Wellesley, Massachusetts following reports of a hazardous substance incident. The Bright Horizons facility saw a swift deployment of first responders and multiple emergency vehicles on the scene.
State hazmat technicians were dispatched to aid the Wellesley Fire Department, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office. Images from the location depicted an ambulance, along with police and fire vehicles outside the building, while aerial views displayed numerous ambulances in the parking area.
Authorities stated that several children had unintentional exposure to a strong dishwashing detergent, as reported by Wellesley police around 12:45 p.m. The affected children are currently under evaluation by medical teams, with some already transported to nearby medical facilities. The Mirror learned that the children were assessed at the hospital and subsequently released shortly after.
