A man aged 39 has been accused of the killing of a housekeeper who was found stabbed in her cottage in a village in Hampshire.
The victim, Gilly Livie, 68, was discovered with severe injuries at her thatched cottage residence in Cheriton, Hampshire. Paramedics and law enforcement officers found her at 10:30 am on January 9. She was pronounced dead at the scene, with a post-mortem examination revealing she succumbed to a stab wound to the neck.
Another man found at the same location was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, as confirmed by Hampshire police. The man was apprehended on Monday on suspicion of murder and moved from the hospital to police custody.
The police department announced on Tuesday that Daniel Livie, 39, residing in Winstreet Close, Alton, has been formally charged with murder. Additionally, he is facing charges related to making threats to kill a man on January 8. Livie is scheduled to appear in front of Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
