A mother shared her harrowing experience of nearly losing her life due to a failed Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery that resulted in a significant wound on her buttocks.
Josephina Finch, seeking a more shapely figure, traveled to Spain in October 2024 for the BBL procedure, opting for the location after hearing negative accounts of similar surgeries in Turkey. Despite paying approximately £6,000 for the BBL and implants, she fell ill a week later and returned to the clinic where she witnessed fluid draining from a wound on her buttocks, indicating an infected implant.
Following the removal of the implants, Josephina began experiencing nerve pain in her leg, prompting her to seek medical attention. Concerned about a potential blood clot, she insisted on blood thinners, which were later confirmed necessary after an ultrasound revealed a large clot in her leg.
Further complications arose when Josephina experienced severe chest pains, leading her to rush to the hospital. Doctors warned that the blood clot could have been life-threatening if left untreated, emphasizing the importance of her proactive approach.
Reflecting on her ordeal, Josephina expressed regret for pursuing the risky procedure and now focuses on building her physique through weightlifting rather than seeking quick fixes. She acknowledged the toll the experience took on her mental health, admitting to health anxiety and guilt over endangering herself as a mother.
