“Soccer Player Critical After Car Incident in Arnold Town”

A soccer player is in critical condition after being injured in a car incident alongside the team’s manager in a town center. The collision involving a red Vauxhall Astra occurred in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, around 1 am on Saturday, prompting an emergency response.

Woodthorpe Park Rangers FC confirmed that three team members, including the manager, were hit by the car in Arnold town center. One player is currently fighting for his life in the hospital. The club expressed their deep concern for the injured player, emphasizing the need for privacy and respect during this challenging time.

The incident took place after the club’s end of season awards celebration. Nottinghamshire Police revealed that the car crash followed an earlier altercation, leading to multiple people being struck by the vehicle. One individual sustained life-threatening injuries, while four others suffered less severe harm.

After abandoning the vehicle at the scene, the driver fled on foot. A 40-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow emphasized the ongoing investigation and urged the public not to speculate on the circumstances. She requested anyone with relevant information or footage to come forward.
