An investigation is currently ongoing following an incident where two men attempted to coax a teenage girl into a vehicle and then pursued her along a street.
The event, described as an “accosting” incident, occurred on Felixstowe Road in Ipswich at approximately 11:20 am on Friday. According to reports, two males approached a teenage girl near the junction with Hines Road.
Suffolk Police mentioned that the men, traveling in a “small, blue car,” engaged the girl and asked her to enter the vehicle. However, when the girl declined and fled towards Murray Road Park, the men supposedly chased her before she screamed, prompting them to retreat.
Subsequently, the men returned to their car. The girl, as per the police, was visibly shaken but unharmed.
Descriptions of the suspects indicated one black male and one white male. The first individual, estimated to be in his late teens to early 20s, had dark hair in an afro style and was attired in a black puffer jacket, grey trousers, and a black ski mask.
The second suspect, of similar age and medium build, had blond hair and wore a light-grey Nike tracksuit.
Law enforcement mentioned that additional patrols would be deployed in the vicinity and urged residents to approach uniformed officers with any relevant information or queries.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Police detailed that after the girl evaded the men and sought refuge at Murray Road Park, the suspects departed in their vehicle towards Felixstowe Road. Despite a search by officers, the suspects and the vehicle were not located.
The first suspect, described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, sported afro-styled dark hair, a black ski mask, a black puffer jacket, and grey trousers. The second suspect, a white male in the same age range, had blonde hair, a medium build, and wore a light-grey Nike Tech tracksuit.
Authorities are seeking witnesses and advised anyone who may have sighted the blue vehicle or the two men in the vicinity during the incident to contact Suffolk Constabulary’s South CID, quoting crime reference 37/7326/26, through their website or by dialing 101.

Furthermore, police requested individuals with dash cameras in the area at the time, as well as residents with CCTV or video doorbell cameras, to review their recordings for any relevant information.
