A group of men, referred to as a “wolf pack,” engaged in a disturbing rape incident targeting an 18-year-old British woman, where they were reported to have laughed loudly and made terrifying threats.
Before the commencement of a trial related to the assault at a hotel in Magaluf, seven French individuals and one Swiss national accepted prison terms totaling slightly over 73 years. The victim fell unconscious during the assault, which was recorded and shared on Snapchat. These perpetrators faced potential prison terms exceeding 150 years if found guilty as charged; however, they opted to plead guilty as part of a negotiated agreement.
The British woman was subjected to a repulsive rape at the BH Mallorca Resort on August 14, 2023. Recently, the identities of the men involved in this heinous act were disclosed.
Five of the admitted offenders were sentenced to either nine or eleven years in prison for their involvement in the rape, depending on the number of times they committed the act. Another individual admitted to a sexual assault without penetration and received a four-year prison sentence. All eight perpetrators confessed to filming the abhorrent assault that left a lasting impact on the victim in room 108 of the Magaluf hotel, with two of them sharing the footage on Snapchat.
Among the offenders, Khalil Abderrahmen Mejbri and Romain Charles Michel Galatioto from France engaged in oral penetration of the victim, who was in a state of unconsciousness due to heavy drinking. Galatioto performed this act seven times while the victim was partially clothed. Additionally, Frenchman Anthony Guy Gerard Wengler and Swiss national Lucas Haiaiel Ngandjeu Djamen Tchatchou were involved in at least one rape incident, alongside Thomas Eric Coretin Wisniewski from France. Tchatchou and Wengler, who resided in room 108, also mistreated the victim, along with Mejbri, after Satilmis Sahan from France struck her.
French national Anthony Auque and Mouhamadou Wade, also from France, observed the 30-minute gang rape and, along with the others, surrounded the victim, uttering obscene threats and comments.
The group members were reported to have made derogatory comments and laughed loudly during the assault. They also filmed the victim without consent and shared the recordings through social media platforms like Snapchat, aiming to humiliate her.
Mejbri and Wisniewski accepted a nine-year prison sentence for the offense of sexual assault with non-consensual penetration. Wengler, Tchatchou, and Galatioto received 11-year prison terms for the same charge. Sahan admitted to sexual assault without penetration and was sentenced to four years in prison. All eight individuals, including those who filmed the assault, were handed two-year-three-month prison terms.
Some of the perpetrators may not return to prison due to time served while in custody before being granted bail approximately nine months ago. The remaining individuals are still in custody awaiting a forthcoming court session where their defense attorneys are expected to request their expulsion from Spain after serving a portion of their sentences.
The disturbing footage captured by the assailants, who were not previously acquainted and came from different groups, played a significant role in their apprehension and subsequent prosecution.
