“Sky Streamlines Movie Lineup and Unveils Smart Home Devices”

Date:

Sky subscribers who enjoy movie marathons are in for a change this week. The broadcasting company has announced a reorganization of its channel lineup, merging Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) with Sky Cinema Family, effective April 30.

This adjustment aims to streamline the service by consolidating family-friendly films onto channel 304. Viewers can anticipate popular titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked all in one place following the transition.

Even though one channel is being removed, all content previously available on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family. Additionally, for fans of Sky Cinema Animation, the standalone channel will make periodic returns during school holidays to entertain children. It is confirmed to be available from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.

Apart from this channel alteration, Sky has ventured into the home security sector by introducing new smart devices. Customers can now subscribe to a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month with a £15 upfront fee. This system offers features such as full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customisable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.

For those seeking additional functionalities, Sky provides a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 monthly and a £20 upfront charge. This package includes an indoor camera and enhanced app controls like scheduled arming and automatic device modes.

Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, expressed that the company’s goal is to make advanced smart technology more accessible to consumers. Sky has prioritized the most valued features for customers while ensuring simplicity, ease of use, and affordability.

This move by Sky reflects a strategic shift towards enhancing customer experience and expanding their service offerings to cater to evolving consumer needs.
