The world’s top photographers are being highlighted today as the Sony World Photography Awards reveal the finalists for the 2026 competition. The competition features stunning images and captivating storytelling that showcase the beauty of the natural world and the charm of animals. Over 430,000 images were submitted from 200+ countries and territories, making it a truly global photography showdown.
A selection of the standout images will be exhibited at Somerset House in London from April 17 to May 4, 2026. In the Professional competition, photographers compete in 10 categories, submitting series of five to 10 images per category. Winners for first, second, and third place in each category will be chosen, along with several shortlisted entries. The ‘Photographer of the Year’ title will be awarded to one of the 10 category winners.
