A toddler was hospitalized with severe injuries after a vehicle crashed into a playground at a nursery in Cheshire. Emergency services, including the police, fire department, and ambulance, responded to the incident in Ellesmere Port, where two other children suffered minor injuries. A 63-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious harm by reckless driving.
The collision occurred around 10 a.m. on Monday, June 15, on Vale Road in the Whitby area of the town. According to Cheshire Constabulary, a car breached a fence and entered the nursery’s play area.
Cheshire Constabulary stated, “A two-year-old boy sustained significant injuries and was transported to a medical facility for further care. The child’s family has been notified. Two additional children sustained minor injuries during the event.”
