The identity of a young woman who was discovered deceased at a residence in Northern Ireland has been disclosed, along with her photograph.

Ellie Flanagan, aged 23, sadly passed away at a location in the Corban Avenue vicinity of Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, on Saturday evening. Following the incident, a 45-year-old male has been apprehended on suspicion of murder and other associated offenses.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team, which commenced a murder investigation subsequent to Ellie’s demise, revealed that she was found during an inquiry into a collision on the Carn Road near Tempo – approximately 20 minutes away – occurring at about 9:15 pm on Saturday.

Reports from Belfast Live indicate that the arrested man had a connection with Ellie. Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson expressed condolences, stating, “Our sympathies are with Ellie’s family and close ones during this difficult period.”

“The 45-year-old male, detained on suspicion of murder and related offenses, remains in police custody. As of Monday, detectives have been granted an additional 36 hours to interrogate him,” Robinson added.

Efforts are ongoing to unravel the circumstances leading to Ellie’s demise and ascertain the exact sequence of events, according to the investigative team. The appeal for information remains active, urging individuals with relevant details to contact the authorities quoting reference number 1564 07/03/26. Any information, regardless of its scale, could be pivotal to the investigation.

“We call on anyone who traversed the Cornagrade Road into Corban Avenue between 6:30 pm and 10:45 pm on Saturday and observed any unusual or suspicious activity to come forward. The local area can expect heightened police presence in the Corban Avenue vicinity as the investigation progresses,” Robinson emphasized.
