“Elderly Woman Fatally Attacked by Dogs in Wolverhampton”

Date:

A woman in her seventies has passed away following a dog attack involving two dogs resembling Rottweilers in Wolverhampton.

Emergency services responded to Willis Pearson Avenue in Bilston after receiving reports that the elderly woman had been harmed by two dogs, which are not of a prohibited breed.

The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene, marking the third fatality from a dog attack in the UK within a short period. Subsequently, the dogs involved were euthanized due to their ongoing aggression towards emergency personnel.

A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of controlling a dog that posed a danger by causing fatal injuries. He was hospitalized for hand injuries sustained during the incident.

The victim, identified locally as Carol Hall, was reportedly attacked in her own residence, leading to her daughter’s distressing outcry about the tragic event.

Neighbors described the two dogs as unmanageable, noting that they would pull their owner along the street.

Authorities are conducting further investigations regarding the two dogs. Police stated that the inquiry was in its initial stages as they sought to ascertain the circumstances of the attack that occurred at 11:30 pm on Wednesday. The residence’s front windows were boarded up, and a woman was observed placing flowers at the property. A neighbor, Sam Wright, 64, commented on the incident, saying, “She couldn’t defend herself as she was frail, and the dogs were large.”

“I distinctly heard her daughter exclaim, ‘The dogs have killed my mom.’ “I witnessed people from the housing association bringing in cleaning supplies today.

Another neighbor recounted an encounter with the dogs while delivering a condolence card, noting their immense size.

“The family reported blood inside the residence, leading to the windows being boarded up. A witness mentioned seeing blood throughout the area.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances and medical personnel to the Bilston location at approximately 11:30 pm. According to a spokesperson from West Midlands Police, “Further investigations are underway regarding the two dogs, which are not of a banned breed. The scene remains secured, and an inquiry is in its preliminary phases as we strive to determine the exact sequence of events.”

A representative from West Midlands Ambulance Service stated, “We received a call at 11:31 pm regarding a dog attack at a private residence on Wills Pearson Avenue in Bilston.

“Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, and a critical care paramedic arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, two individuals were found.
