Gary Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, faces charges for four sexual offences involving a girl dating back to 1978, according to the Crown Prosecution Service. The charges include one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14. The 82-year-old is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5.
The Metropolitan Police revealed that the charges pertain to a single victim and allegedly occurred between 1978 and 1981 at a residential location in Kensington. The allegations were reported to the police on January 9, 2025, leading to an investigation. Gadd was initially interviewed on July 22, 2025, regarding the case. The victim is currently receiving support from specialized officers, who have been informed of the latest developments.
