The Met Office has indicated that snow is expected over the Easter weekend. Temperatures are set to drop significantly in the upcoming days, potentially reaching as low as -7C as cold air moves in from the west. Weather forecasts from Metdesk have revealed the likelihood of snow across various UK regions.
The Met Office, the UK’s national weather and climate service, has confirmed the possibility of snowfall on Good Friday for some parts of the country. Meteorologist Alex Burkill mentioned the potential for strong winds due to a deepening low-pressure system approaching northeastern Scotland.
The heaviest snowfall is predicted for Scotland, especially in the Scottish Highlands. However, there are indications that snow may reach areas as far south as Staffordshire and parts of Wales during the Easter holiday. Rain is expected in other regions, particularly in western areas like Cumbria and south Wales.
While temperatures soared above 20C in west Wales recently, they are now anticipated to plummet, with Sunday morning feeling as cold as -7C in certain locations. The weekend will see windy conditions, especially on Friday, with westerly gales affecting regions like the Yorkshire Dales, the Pennines, and parts of mid and north Wales.
Despite the wintry conditions, there are signs that temperatures will rise again and winds will calm down after Monday. Greater London, Kent, and Essex are projected to experience the warmest temperatures by the end of the following week.
