Three individuals have been apprehended following the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old woman outside a bar in the center of Sheffield. South Yorkshire Police responded to reports of gunfire outside the One Four One Bar around 2:45 am today. Law enforcement discovered evidence suggesting a shooting had occurred and took two men and one woman into custody in connection with the incident.
One man and the woman were arrested near Stockport in Greater Manchester early Monday, while the second man was detained in Sheffield. They are currently detained for questioning. Police have initiated a murder investigation, although formal identification of the victim is pending, her family has been notified.
Assistant Chief Constable Colin McFarlane expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, emphasizing the young woman’s demise during a night out over the bank holiday weekend in Sheffield. He urged witnesses in the area of West Street and Eldon Street to come forward with any information, either directly to authorities or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
Following the incident, road closures have been implemented in the vicinity of the bar, affecting West Street, Mappin Street, Westfield Terrace, Eldon Street, Westhill Lane, and part of Orange Street. Commuters are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Tram and bus services to the city have been disrupted, with tram operations suspended between Cathedral and Middlewood or Malin Bridge until further notice.
