Reports indicate that cold weather will begin affecting the country around 12 noon on March 15, according to information from the Express. The Met Office’s extended forecast for March 6 to 15 states: “High pressure is expected to have a significant impact during this period, particularly in the south or southeast regions of the UK.

“This suggests many areas will experience dry conditions with varying cloud cover and some sunshine. The sunniest weather is likely in the south or southeast regions. Clear skies and light winds may lead to possible overnight fog.”

“However, frontal systems are expected to impact the north and west of the UK at times, potentially moving further east occasionally, resulting in rain, strong winds, and possibly snow on high ground in the north. Temperatures are predicted to be near or slightly above average, with chances of sporadic overnight frosts.”

The monthly forecast from Netweather.tv for March 9 to 15 states: “Winds are likely to predominantly come from the south or southwest, maintaining above-average temperatures for most of the period. However, this week may see more unsettled weather compared to the previous week, with low-pressure systems extending further east and bringing bands of rain across the country, interspersed with occasional showers.

“Eastern Britain is expected to be drier than usual, especially eastern Scotland, where rain bands are likely to weaken as they move northeast, resulting in fewer showers between the bands. Conversely, western counties, particularly in southwestern Britain, are anticipated to experience more precipitation than usual.”

“Temperatures are expected to be 1 to 2C above average across most of the country, but closer to average in western Scotland and Northern Ireland, where colder polar air from the west may
