“UK Weather: Warm Temperatures Expected; Showers and Rain to Follow”

Date:

Weather forecasts in the UK indicate that seven counties are expected to experience warm temperatures of 24C or higher within the next two weeks. The Met Office predicts that a period of warmer weather will follow recent showers and rain as Atlantic frontal systems move across the country. The wettest conditions are anticipated in the northwest, while the southeast is likely to stay drier.

According to WXCharts, which utilizes MetDesk data, on Saturday, June 13, most of the UK can expect warm to mild conditions by 6pm. Southern England, the Midlands, and Wales are set to see temperatures in the low 20s, except for some coastal regions in the southwest where temperatures will remain in the late teens.

London is forecasted to reach 26C, with neighboring counties such as Kent, Surrey, and Berkshire also expected to reach temperatures between 24 and 25C. Further north, temperatures will generally be in the late teens, while Northern Ireland is likely to experience cooler temperatures in the mid-teens.

The Met Office predicts that Monday will be cloudy with rain moving eastward from the west, especially heavy in western areas. Winds are expected to be moderate to fresh, lighter in the north, and temperatures will be close to average for this time of year.

Looking ahead to Tuesday through Thursday, the weather is expected to remain unsettled with rain, showers, and potential thunderstorms. Hail is possible during thunderstorms, and temperatures will be notably cooler compared to the previous week.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast for Friday to Sunday indicates continued unsettled weather with showers or longer periods of rain, particularly in the northwest. Strong winds may affect some parts of the UK, especially in the northwest. Towards the end of the period, higher pressure and drier conditions may prevail, especially in the south, with temperatures expected to be near normal overall.
